 The PMI South Alabama Chap
 ter will hold their 2019 Professional Development Seminar\, “Proactive P
 roject Management” on October 17th and invites all area project manageme
 nt professionals\, new and experienced\, to attend and join in the discuss
 ion.
 Even though project management is by definition fundamentally proac
 tive\, as project managers\, it is all too common for us to spend more tim
 e being reactive than proactive in our projects. Our speakers this year wi
 ll be focusing on some of the key areas where some extra intentional proac
 tivity can pay tremendous dividends\, helping you by avoiding risks\, impr
 oving your teamwork and saving you precious time and resources.

  Dr. Jane Goodson\, Troy University Mo
 ntgomery\, Professional Development Trainer and Consultant\, has over 30 y
 ears of consulting and training experience in both public and private sect
 or organizations. Dr. Goodson specializes in the area of management consul
 ting and has extensive experience in organizational change efforts.

 Gary Smith\, CEO of Nectar Bridge\, helps business owners make pl
 ans and set priorities around sales\, marketing\, and operations. He's bee
 n the webmaster for PMI South Alabama and spoken at PMI's national confere
 nce.

 Michael Jackson\, Troy University Montgomery\, is a p
 rofessional trainer within both the public and private sector. As Continui
 ng Education and Outreach’s Professional Trainer and Organizational Cons
 ultant\, he presents a number of topics to include active shooter\, workpl
 ace violence\, volatile situations\, communication\, productivity and perf
 ormance\, leadership\, customer service\, time and stress management\, tea
 m building\, generations\, impression management\, culture inclusion\, goa
 l setting\, supervision\, and ethics. Michael is a retired Gunnery Sergean
 t USMC of 23 years and a combat veteran of Desert Storm. In 1993\, he was 
 awarded the Governors Outstanding Enlisted Representative for the State of
  Alabama.&nbsp\;
 
 Scott Martin\, CIO of the Alabama Department of Ment
 al Health\, has worked in various industries including logistics\, healthc
 are\, software development\, and manufacturing for the past 25 years. Mr. 
 Martin speaks from a wide range of project experience\, having managed num
 erous projects for both start-ups as well as Fortune 100 companies.

 Charlie McDonald\, Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail\,
  has worked as a sales and marketing director for over 14 years. Charlie b
 elieves that creating positive work and social environments help bring gro
 ups of people closer together for a common goal and he demonstrates this c
 onsistently as he regularly works with local and national organizations fa
 cilitating more than 140 golf tournaments events throughout the year.
