Nomination and Voting Process for Awards

 

We are excited to announce the details of the nomination and voting process for the 20th Chapter Anniversary of PMI South Alabama. This is an opportunity to recognize the outstanding contributions and achievements of project managers and teams in our chapter. Below is an overview of how the process will work.

 

Peer or Self-Nominations

 

We encourage both self-nominations and peer nominations. If you or someone you know has made significant contributions to the PMI South Alabama Chapter, this is your chance to highlight those efforts. The nomination form will be accessible on our website, where you can submit your entries.

Nominations Review Committee

 

Once nominations are received, the Nominations Review Committee will carefully review all submissions. Candidates will be evaluated based on their qualifications, contributions, and overall impact on both the PMI South Alabama Chapter and the broader project management community.


Note:

After the finalists are selected, they will be required to submit the following:

  • A professional
  • A brief
  • A 30-second video explaining why project management is their passion and how they translate that passion into successful projects.

Finalist Voting

 

After the initial review, a set of finalists will be chosen for each award category. The PMI community will then be invited to vote on the finalists. Please note that finalists must attend the celebration dinner to receive their award.

This process is designed to ensure that the most deserving individuals are recognized for their dedication and impact within our chapter.

 

 

Timeline for Nominations and Voting

  • October 7th – 21st: Nominations open, and the submission link will be
  • October 21st – 31st: Nominations under
  • November 1st – 7th: Community voting

 

 

Award Categories and Criteria

We are proud to present seven award categories designed to recognize excellence and impact across the project management community. Below are the categories, qualifications, and descriptions:

1.     Project Manager of the Year

  • Description: Recognizes an individual who has demonstrated exceptional project management skills and leadership.
  • Qualifications: Must have successfully led a project within the past
  • Impact: Contributed significantly to the success and reputation of the project management community by delivering high-quality projects.

2.     Emerging Project Manager

  • Description: Honors a rising star in project management who shows great potential and dedication.
  • Qualifications: Must have less than three years of experience and made notable
  • Impact: Demonstrated the potential for future significant contributions to the project management community.

3.     Innovative Project Award

  • Description: Celebrates a project that introduced innovative solutions or
  • Qualifications: Must have implemented a groundbreaking approach to project
  • Impact: Elevated the community’s reputation for innovation and creative problem-solving.

4.     Volunteer of the Year

  • Description: Honors a volunteer who has made significant contributions to PMI Alabama Chapters.
  • Qualifications: Must have volunteered for at least one year and demonstrated outstanding service.
  • Impact: Played a key role in the success of chapter events and initiatives through volunteer work.

5.     Community Impact Award

  • Description: Recognizes a project that has made a positive impact on the local
  • Qualifications: Must have led or participated in a project that directly benefited the PMI Alabama community.
  • Impact: Strengthened PMI Alabama’s connection with the local community through impactful project work.

6.     PMI South Alabama Lifetime Achievement Award

  • Description: Honors an individual for a lifetime of significant contributions to PMI South Alabama.
  • Qualifications: Must have been a member for at least 10 years with numerous impactful contributions.
  • Impact: Played a pivotal role in the growth and success of PMI South Alabama over the years.

7.     Leadership Excellence Award

  • Description: Recognizes an individual who has demonstrated exceptional leadership and strategic vision.
  • Qualifications: Must have held a leadership position within PMI Alabama and achieved notable success.
  • Impact: Their efforts strengthened the chapter's strategic direction and leadership capabilities.

 

This nomination and recognition process allows us to celebrate the hard work, dedication, and innovative contributions of project managers and teams within the PMI South Alabama Chapter. We are excited to honor the achievements that have driven success and growth in our community.
