Topic: Is Project Management of Value for Everyone
Speaker: Jeremy Bradford, South Alabama PMI Chapter President
Highlights:
There are approximately 10 million people performing “project management” jobs in the US – about 3% of the US population.
What about the other 97% of people? Should project management be important to them? In this month’s topic, we discuss the ubiquity of project management principles, why PM approaches should be embraced by The Everyman, and how employing PM principles can make you more successful at whatever you undertake, whether in work, hobbies, or personal endeavors. In addition, this presentation promises a chance for retrospective and practical application for practicing Project Managers
BIO:
Jeremy Bradford has over 15 years’ experience in engineering and project management. He has also spent time working in various finance, governance and leadership roles. Jeremy became an “accidental” project manager in the late 2000’s, and since that time has taken Project Management roles at various companies, largely in the aerospace industry. He has worked on many amazing projects...and a few mediocre ones. He formalized his PM status by obtaining his PMP in 2015. He joined Siemens in 2017 as a PM. In 2019 he transitioned out of project management and into a practice/resource manager role. Although no longer working in a PM role, he still makes frequent use of the principles gained through his experience as a PM. Outside of work, his passions are his faith, family, and volunteering. He is the current president of the PMI South Alabama board of directors.
